Lucy has just graduated with an MFA in illustration with distinction from Edinburgh College of Art. She is now working freelance in Edinburgh as an illustrator creating beautiful books and paper objects under the name 'The Book Tree Press'.

"I use traditional printmaking and bookbinding skills to create graceful and delicate contemporary paper works. Each project is inspired by literature, everything from a poem or proverb to a novel. The illustration of each subject overflows into the whole form of the book, making it sculptural and breaking the boundaries of the traditional book form. The bookworks invite the reader to engage with them as event to be moved through and a language to be discovered."
