Sandra was born in Brampton, Cumberland and brought up in South Shields. She lived in London before moving to Edinburgh in 1986. She gave up teaching to devote more time to her painting which is inspired by the landscapes of Edinburgh and Highland Perthshire.

Sandra is a member of Holyrood Art club and has exhibited work in the club’s own exhibitions, Marchmont Gallery and Cancer Research . She mainly works in watercolour and pastel but intends to develop her work in oil and mixed media with the help of Edinburgh Art College.
