"I was born and raised in the Western Isles and came to study at Edinburgh Art College in 1996. My obsession with horses and animals began early in childhood and is a big part of my life today and they are used continuously throughout my work. Owning and working with horses means that I am constantly reminded of their power, strength and grace. The sight, smell, and feel of animals, especially horses has always inspired me. It is instinctive and primal. My mixed media paintings are a reaction to this and I aim to portray these traits."
