Carla Johnston is a printmaker based in Edinburgh.

"My printmaking is infused with the rhythms and patterns of nature, observed whilst taking experiential walks. I find drawing a joy and an essential starting point of my practice.

The printmaking processes are interesting and absorbing. They infuse my drawing with textures and colours, the magical, the mysterious, mark making all conspire to reflect the beauty of nature.

Our natural surroundings; sea, rocks, or sky repeat and respond in the macro and the micro they inform and inspire my work, I merely observe in awe."
