Catherine Holtet is a ceramic artist, she works from her WASPS studio in Dundee.
"I mainly work in porcelain, and make both functional and decorative pieces. Over the years I've worked a lot with water-etching, a technique resulting in extremely thin and delicate relief patterns. This allows a maximum of light to pass through the porcelain walls, taking full advantage of the properties of this material that I'm most fascinated with: it's incredible purity and translucency. The material lends itself naturally to making lighting objects, from nightlight holders to functional lamps or more sculptural work".
