Peter Gorrie is an Edinburgh Artist now based in Craigleith.

From 1995 to 2000 Peter divided most of his time between living on the West Coast of Scotland and Southern France (Dordogne region). He was attracted to the light of the Scottish West Coast and the influence of the sea on the landscape which he feels offer the potential for a softer landscape using play of the light and semi abstract imagery. He has also painted some pictures of Edinburgh and continues to develop his technique in townscapes.

Peters paintings are almost all painted in acrylic but sometimes in watercolour. Texture and contrast forms an important part of the work adding a sense of realness to the scenes.

Since 2000 he has sold approximately 60 paintings mostly landscapes and Scottish West Coast seascapes. He had a solo exhibition in the Edinburgh Fine Art Library in 2006 and has sold work through a range of galleries and outlets.
